Ten years and still counting!

s0hMood > *Celebrations*

This post is specially decicated to [T.A.G] members….

Mm ging mm gok – we have known (most of) each other for 10 long years. Ten. Sap. Sih? Sepuluh!! It’s a damn auspicious number ok? Most people nowadays aren’t even married half as long as our friendship last (and still growing strong!!). That just shows how old we are. And how far we’ve come! I don’t really remember how I met half of you crazy people. I only remember how Pn. Rokaya asked us to pair up and get to know the pair behind us as part of a ‘English’ exercise. And that’s how I got to know WaterFish. And then through Moral classes, I get to know three scary people – actually make that two since Hippo is the ‘known victim’ to Rhino and Elephant. You guys were like heaps popular ok! Everyone knows how notorious you guys were, make note to self: DON’T KAO JING. Then in Form 2, again in Moral class, I stumbled upon Mountain Pig. I still remember back then she was damn ‘xiao qi’. Lolol. Then in Form 4, Monkey came and joined us. Even though you basically self-entered the group, I’m sure we are all glad that you did.

[T.A.G] was hence born and has been growing every since – Giraffe, Camel, Porcupine, Frog and some un-animalised members, special mention to baby Nikolas ^^! With addition of new members here and there. Especially when most of us are involved in PSS aka school library. Out of no where, we decided to be librarians. Prefects are too dangerous a job – almost every single prefect I know has been hit in some way – guys la of course. Girls not too bad. But I don’t want to risk it. So then we begin to involved ourselves in a lot of unrelated stuff. English Society drama – none of our business also -.-”’ None of us are even members of that society. It’s only because the library advisor is also the English Society advisor. And since she couldn’t get anyone in the society to do it, we were asked to instead. Misuse power nehhh. Anyway. It was somewhat fun. Except for the bit that we were criticised for having ‘too many deaths’ in our drama and hence lost zzzz. For those who play Final Fantasy game, you will know the play between Cornelia and the dude-I-forgot-his-name. Anyway. It was really funny. We even recorded the competition. LOLOL. And the Snow Black drama for PSS dinner night. And the Haunted House for school carnival. Too bad we lost to freaking Koperasi by like dunno how many dollars. Cause they have like ten gazillion stores!!! But that was fun. And also a lot of other memories we’ve created together.

We’ve been through so much and I can’t believe we’re still friends after so long. ^^ I am indeed very lucky to know you guys. Thank you for laughing with me when I’m happy. For crying with me when I’m sad. For holding my hand when I’m scared. For standing by me when I’m rebellious. For joking with me when I’m bored. For scolding me when I put myself in danger. For checking on me when I’m alone. For encouraging me when I left overseas. And most of all, for the friendship you guys have shared with me. For everything you’ve guys have done for me, thank you very very very much! Here’s to hoping our friendship will have many many more ten years to come! 无论发生什么事, 我们永远永远都会是最好的朋友. [T.A.G] 万岁!!!

Happy Birthday: Xian Boon

s0hMood > *celebration*

It has been quite a while since Xian Boon’s birthday before I finally kicked my own ass to blog about it. After three months, well, I’m not that LATE am I? Besides, they always say, better late than never right? This is one classic example, and so I think.

As I mentioned, it’s been quite long back and my brain is slowly wearing down before my eyes and my memory is not all that great at the moment. Amazingly, I don’t even remember what I ate last night (14/04/2007). I’m being serious.

Ok, I’ll blog whatever I can remember. Mind you it’s pretty hazy and vague. Oh well, at least I tried right? So here goes.

It was Xian Boon’s very special 21st birthday and we being his ultimate good friends planned to give him his most memorable birthday celebration up to date. So what’s so memorable about it? First, we went to shop for his birthday present on the faithful day itself (celebrated it earlier on 21st Jan 07), and so we bought his gifts. And we ended up buying a Hot Market cheapass 5 ringgit poster of his favourite group, Twins. And that’s from 8 of us. Real classic eh? I’m sure he’ll remember us forever. What an unusual 21st bday gift, ain’t we SMART? He even took a picture of it and posted it in his blog. ROFL.

Our gift is the biggest of all!!!

Then we went to Giant to get some cream and smarties. Went back to my house, and wait for Mei Shan to arrive with the sponge cake, extra cream, candles and base plate. She even bought almond sprinkles. LOL. So what does it sound like? Yeah, we made a cake for him. Awwwww, isn’t that sweet? We’re such GOOD friends, remember? This is what FRIENDS do for each other. Though he already bought himself a large key shaped cake, we insisted.

So me, Mei Shan and Wai Han start spreading cream around the cake. And as most of you know, sponge cake has a hollow centre and hence, we filled half of it with cream (yummy!!!). Wanted to fill the whole thing up but we ran out of precious cream. So I ran frantically around the kitchen, rummaging through the fridge to look for some decorative fruits. And all I found were grapes. Green ones. Now I know this sounded elaborate but wait for it, it’s worth reading I ensure you! The cream spread wasn’t very well done and it was somewhat watery, soaking the soft sponge cake, making it extremely soggy. Ewwww. So I remember from secondary elective cooking classes, I put a lil too much starch on the fish cooked in black sauce (something we invented on spot) and the sauce concentrated within seconds. And so I decided to try the same method and conveniently, my mum has a huge storage of starch flour. We dabbed it all along the sides of the cake, making the cream stiff and permanently stuck onto the cake. Well, you get the picture. Then we sprinkle a lot some more starch on top to make the cake prettier and harder since it’s all soggy. Ah, geniuses we ARE~ Then we sprinkle the sliced almonds and finished the cake with loads of smarties and grapes, of course. I wish I can show you the end product, but I couldn’t find the picture. Anyway, I’m sure each of you already have a clear idea of what it looks like. Actually, you’ll sort of see it later. Just wait.

So then I frantically look around my house again for any good looking boxes with no avail. Finally settled with this fit but ugly looking cardboard box. Chuck the cake in and rush to Xian Boon’s house where a buffet style party is held since we were already VERY late. So we rush rush rush, finally reached. Then we rush some more to the fridge so that the cake can hardened up a bit more. Plus it’s meant to be a surprise. So we told Boon not to peep at it. And he didn’t. Well, he should HAVE. So we were waiting for that moment, for the other guests to have go home since we didn’t want to cause any embarrassment. You see, our cake wasn’t exactly pretty. Fine, I admit. It’s ugly. Even my mother who saw the cake when we were on our way out said, is it edible? -.-‘ My mum doubt my skills.

So the moment finally arrived and come, come, come, this video will do a far better talking that I do. Dozo~~

I’m sure at this point, ya’ll agree with me, friends are just the next best thing to diamonds. LOL. The funny thing is, he actually thinks the cake is edible because it looks nice, my, he’s too generous.

p/s We are not that cheapskates la, his gifts are actually the T-shirts from Baleno and a sporty Adidas watch (was it Adidas? something like that la) as seen in the above picture.
